Senator Wadada Defends Tinubu Administration, Calls Critics Ignorant or Enemies

The lawmaker representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, Senator Aliyu Wadada, has strongly defended President Bola Tinubu’s administration, asserting that only an “open enemy” would wish the government away.

Speaking on the nation’s economic trajectory, Wadada pointed to several key indicators that have shown marked improvement since Tinubu took office. He noted that while more work remains, the progress across vital sectors is evident and cannot be ignored.

“Anyone who sits down and hopes this administration disappears is either ignorant, unrealistic, or an outright enemy,” he said, adding that legitimate opposition differs from hostility.

Economic Gains Highlighted

Wadada cited gains in the balance of payments, balance of trade, foreign reserves, exchange rate stability, and the capital market as proof that the administration’s reforms are yielding results.

He specifically mentioned that Nigeria’s foreign reserves have risen from below $30 billion at the start of Tinubu’s tenure to approximately $56‑$57 billion. The unification of foreign‑exchange windows, he added, has contributed to greater naira stability.

Infrastructure and Sector Growth

The senator highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects nationwide and the expansion of the Nigerian capital market as further signs of economic advancement under the current government.

Electricity Act and Solid Minerals

Wadada praised the signing of the Electricity Act, which enables states to generate electricity by leveraging their comparative advantages. He also noted that Nasarawa has become a major player in the solid minerals sector, hosting the country’s first and second lithium processing plants.

While celebrating these achievements, Wadada acknowledged that challenges persist.

“There are clear improvements and growth in every sector, but that does not mean everything is perfect. Much more still needs to be done,” he concluded.
