Dele Momodu Warns Governor Adeleke of Alleged APC Plot to Rig Osun 2026 Election
Veteran journalist and publisher Dele Momodu has alerted Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to an alleged scheme by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to manipulate the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
In a post on X, Momodu, whom he calls his “Twin Brother,” claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), under President Bola Tinubu’s influence, cannot be trusted to deliver a free, fair and credible vote.
He warned that the APC‑led federal government intends to use the Osun poll as a rehearsal for the 2027 presidential election.
Momodu stated, “Do not be misled into believing that INEC, fully controlled of PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU, will organise a free, fair and credible election in Osun State on August 15, 2026.” He added that the ruling APC is determined to turn the election into a dress rehearsal for their preparations for the January 2027 presidential race.
He further alleged that APC members have been instructed to secure victory in Osun “by any means necessary,” warning that such tactics could provoke serious repercussions.
“We have many friends in the APC, and we have been told to expect any outcome. Their foot‑soldiers are told simply: take Osun by any means necessary and deal with the fallout later,” he said.
Momodu urged Governor Adeleke to remain steadfast and place his trust in God as the election approaches, while praising the governor’s achievements in office.
“Please hold tightly to God as you always have. We are proud of the exceptional work you have done and continue to do,” he remarked.
He challenged the APC to campaign on its track record, saying, “Let them campaign with what they have achieved in the past… little or nothing to show.”
