Eldest Brother Expresses Doubt Over Peter and Paul Reconciliation
Henry Okoye, the eldest brother of the former music duo P‑Square, says he does not believe twins Peter and Paul will ever restore the close relationship they once shared.
Although he acknowledges that Peter has made genuine attempts to mend the rift, Henry remains unconvinced that a reunion is possible.
“I would be happy to see them together again, but I don’t think it will happen. Paul used to be the kindest person in our family,” Henry said.
He urged Paul to reconsider, recalling how Peter stood by him during a period of illness, and expressed surprise at the change he has observed in Paul over the years.
“Peter is trying. I don’t know if Jude used some kind of juju on Paul because he was the nicest person before. The way he has changed is shocking,” Henry alleged.
Henry also revisited the early days of P‑Square, claiming that he had been promised a 20 percent share of the duo’s earnings when they started making money, only for Jude to intervene and cancel that arrangement.
He said Peter once directed him to Jude regarding money he believed was owed, telling him to meet Jude after their father‑in‑law’s death.
Despite numerous mediation attempts — including talks by businessman Shehu Dantata — the family dispute has persisted.
Background of the P‑Square Split and Recent Legal Battle
The disagreement between Peter and Paul led to the collapse of P‑Square in 2017 after years of internal conflicts over music and management.
The twins briefly reconciled in 2021, raising hopes that the feud was over, but another fallout emerged in 2024 when Peter accused Paul and Jude of working against him and questioned the handling of the group’s finances.
Peter alleged that a company linked to Jude and his wife, Northside Music Limited, had received royalties that rightfully belonged to P‑Square.
Paul rejected those claims, defended Jude, and blamed Peter for the legal troubles facing their elder brother.
The controversy prompted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to charge Jude with offences involving ₦1.38 billion, $1 million and £34,537.59.
During the trial, Peter testified that Jude secretly created Northside Music Limited to divert P‑Square royalties, but later admitted under cross‑examination in February 2026 that he himself was a co‑signatory to the account of Northside Entertainment Limited.
Henry said that, despite the bitterness, his wish is for the Okoye family to reunite. He urged Jude to help settle the disagreement and asked Paul to forgive Peter.
He added that he has personally let go of past grievances and hopes his siblings will do the same, emphasizing that restoring family peace remains his top priority, even though he doubts Peter and Paul will ever revive their former musical partnership.
