A Nigerian woman recently recounted an awkward moment she experienced during a church service, sparking widespread online reactions. In her X post, user @Ola-sun-kanmi explained how she unintentionally fell asleep near the altar.
Lady Shares Embarrassing Encounter
According to her post, she dozed off beside the altar after joining a group of older worshippers during a prayer session. When the prayer ended, everyone returned to their seats while she remained asleep.
She later heard the clergy asking about her presence as an usher gently tapped her. After waking, she stretched in front of the congregation, gradually realizing what had happened. Though stunned, she quietly slipped to the nearest available seat. She recalled, “I woke up and stretched in front of the whole church. I was still stretching when I became fully aware of my surroundings. I froze for a moment before looking for the nearest seat. The embarrassment,” she added.
