A Nigerian traveler has voiced his frustration online after claiming he was barred from entering Mauritius despite arriving with all necessary travel documentation.

Details of the Alleged Incident
In a widely circulated clip on X (formerly Twitter) shared by user @dammiedammie95, he stated he had journeyed to the island for leisure, pre‑booked accommodations and tours, yet immigration officers allegedly turned him away and expelled him together with other passengers.
He lamented, “Mauritius refused our visas after we landed; it seems Nigerians are being pushed out of many nations.”
He said the group was singled out for interrogation and allegedly handled as if they were criminals, even though they had fulfilled every travel requirement.
He emphasized that he possessed a hotel booking, vaccination certificate, evidence of sufficient funds and the other paperwork requested, yet entry was still denied on the basis of his Nigerian nationality.
“I had reserved a five‑star hotel, arranged tours at three locations, carried my yellow card and cash as required. They sent us back solely because we are Nigerians,” he added.
Public Reaction
The footage has ignited a wave of responses across social media, with numerous Nigerians expressing dismay over the perceived mistreatment of their compatriots abroad linked to the nation’s reputation.
The matter remains a hot topic on platforms such as X, fueling ongoing debate about how Nigerians are treated when they travel overseas.
