A Nigerian woman has ignited online discussion after revealing that her partner, who had presented himself as single and childless, was in fact married with three children.
The footage, posted on X by user @teeniiola, shows the woman recounting how she unexpectedly encountered her boyfriend during Eid festivities in Shomolu, Lagos.
Relationship Began Three Months Prior
The woman, named Aisha, explained that she and the man, Jamil, had been dating for roughly three months.
Throughout their time together, she repeatedly inquired about his marital status and whether he had children, and each time he insisted he was unmarried and childless.
Unexpected Meeting During Eid Observances
Aisha said she had originally intended to celebrate Eid at her mother’s home, but changed plans to visit her aunt in Shomolu for Ileya preparations.
Following the Eid prayers, she claimed she spotted Jamil in the vicinity accompanied by a woman and three youngsters.
Initially puzzled, as she was unaware he resided in Shomolu, she remarked, ‘I went for Eid. I didn’t know Jamil lives in Shomolu.’
As they exited the prayer ground, she observed Jamil, a woman, and three children who appeared to be a family.
Mosque Attendees Verify His Marital Status
Aisha initially doubted her eyes and approached an elderly woman nearby for clarification.
The woman confirmed that Jamil regularly attended the Central Mosque with his wife and children.
‘I didn’t want to believe it; I thought they might just look alike,’ she said.
‘I then asked an auntie about him, and she told me he is a regular at the mosque and that those are his wife and children.’
Partner Presents Her as a Family Acquaintance
When Aisha later confronted Jamil, he allegedly deflected by introducing her to his wife as his mother’s friend’s child.
‘I approached Jamil; when he saw me, he began giving me signals,’ she recalled.
‘He greeted me, asked how I was, and told his wife I was his mother’s friend’s child.’
‘I was stunned when he declared, “This is my wife,” and had the nerve to present me to her.’
Reason for Her Silence
Despite feeling hurt, Aisha chose not to expose the truth to the wife, citing concern for the children involved.
Seeing the children reminded her of the anguish caused by broken homes.
‘I gazed at his three lovely children; his eldest daughter is about eleven years old,’ she noted.
‘I wished to speak with the wife, but my reverence for God prevented me from jeopardizing his family due to the kids.’
‘I understand the pain of a fractured household. I stayed silent. Jamil, God will judge you; He will judge you on my behalf.’
