Naja’atu Mohammed Challenges Ali Modu Sheriff Over Boko Haram Links, Defends Peter Obi’s Patriotism
Former presidential adviser and activist Naja’atu Mohammed has dared former Borno State Governor Ali Modu Sheriff to address allegations linking him to the emergence of Boko Haram before questioning the patriotism of presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Speaking at a press conference in Kano, Mohammed said Sheriff lacks the moral authority to criticise Obi’s commitment to a united Nigeria while serious allegations about his role in the insurgency remain unresolved.
“A man who allegedly created the vicious Boko Haram group, who should be paying for his sins, would gather the liver to troll a presidential candidate. That is the height of hypocrisy,” she declared.
She added that those familiar with the insurgency’s origins know where it began, and urged Nigerians not to allow anyone to rewrite that history.
Mohammed also stated that it is unfortunate for someone facing such grave allegations to lecture another on national unity.
She emphasised that Sheriff cannot credibly question Obi’s dedication to Nigeria’s unity while unresolved claims about his alleged involvement in Boko Haram continue to linger in public discourse.
