Sokoto Tangaza LGA Chairman Isa Salihu Kalenjine Resigns, Quits APC
Hon. Isa Salihu Kalenjine has resigned from his position as Chairman of Tangaza Local Government Council in Sokoto State.
He explained that he is no longer able to carry out the duties of the office to the standard expected of him.
The decision came after extensive discussions with his family, key political associates, and community stakeholders.
His resignation letter, titled “LETTER OF RESIGNATION AS EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF TANGAZA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA,” states:
“Please accept this letter as formal notification that I am resigning from my position as Executive Chairman of Tangaza Local Government, effective immediately from today.
“This difficult decision has been reached after extensive consultations with my family, key political associates, and community stakeholders.
“Due to recent unavoidable administrative challenges, I find that I am no longer able to execute the responsibilities of this office to the high standard expected of me.
“I am incredibly grateful to the electorate, the Council’s legislative arm, and the entire staff for the privilege and opportunity to serve our people.
“I wish the incoming leadership and administration continued success.”
Prior to leaving the local government post, Kalenjine also submitted a separate resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The APC resignation letter, dated May 5, 2026, was addressed to the Ward Chairman of Kalanjeni Ward in Tangaza LGA and cited personal reasons for his departure from the party.
In the letter, he formally informed the ward chairman of his immediate resignation from the APC.
