A man has ignited online debate after voicing discomfort with his estate’s switch from male to female security personnel at the entrance.
He shared his thoughts in a light‑hearted social media update, saying he no longer feels at ease since the change took effect a few days ago.
Initially he thought the female guards were only a temporary measure, but later learned the arrangement was permanent.
Resident challenges the estate’s security change
In his post, he noted that thefts had occurred even when male guards were on duty, yet the new setup left him uneasy.
“My estate swapped male gate guards for two women and I haven’t felt secure since. Nobody should exploit my situation to pursue gender equality. As an aspiring alpha male, I cannot rest easy with women overseeing me.”
Although he rarely attends estate meetings, he announced he will attend the upcoming Saturday gathering to voice his concerns to fellow residents.
Online reaction to the viral statement
The comment section split, with many users finding his tone amusing while others backed the female guards, insisting that competence outweighs gender.
Several commentators highlighted that women have long served in armed forces, police forces and private security firms across Nigeria and abroad.
Lately, numerous Nigerian estates and companies have been hiring more female security staff as part of broader inclusion and gender‑balance initiatives.
