DJ Chicken Arrested Over Comments on Seyi Tinubu
Nigerian social media personality and entertainer DJ Chicken has reportedly been taken into custody by security agents following remarks he allegedly made about Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu.
The entertainer’s lawyer disclosed that DJ Chicken was arrested at the Ikeja Police Headquarters in Lagos State and is presently held by security authorities, suspected to be the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to the lawyer, “The Chicken is now with the authorities. He was arrested at Ikeja Police Headquarters. I’m quite certain it is the DSS.” He added that the arrest stems from a statement DJ Chicken made days earlier concerning Seyi Tinubu.
The lawyer appealed to fans, associates of the President’s son, and influential Nigerians to intervene, urging them to plead for leniency.
He said, “Fans and well‑wishers, people who like Chicken, and those close to the President, please help us to beg. I don’t even know what to do now; the evidence is there. At this point, I’m begging you.”
The lawyer described DJ Chicken as his personal rehabilitation project, explaining that he took an interest in helping the controversial entertainer despite his repeated run‑ins with the law.
“In fact, Chicken is my own personal project. It’s my part of giving back to society. I just picked up an interest in him. As a criminal lawyer, that’s why I chose Chicken,” he stated, adding, “We are just managing him. I’m trying to… he’s still part of society. He has messed up.”
He further urged anyone with access to Seyi Tinubu or influential government officials to assist in securing DJ Chicken’s release, saying, “If you can see this video and you are a Chicken’s fan, and you know someone who knows someone—whether in government or close to the President—please help us beg for forgiveness.”
