Benjamin Fredrick Eyes Premier League Debut After Signing New Brentford Deal
Nigeria defender Benjamin Fredrick has set his sights on making his Premier League debut after signing a new four-year contract with Brentford and earning promotion to the first‑team squad.
The Premier League club announced on Friday that the 21‑year‑old has committed his future to the team with a long‑term deal following his impressive performances with the B team.
Fredrick described the milestone as a proud moment for himself and his family, thanking the support he has received since arriving in West London.
He said, “It’s a great feeling. I’m happy and proud of myself, and my family are proud of me as well.”
He added, “The club has helped me a lot. When I came here, I was a little bit nervous and shy. I didn’t know how to do the basics because where I’m from is a little bit different to here.”
He especially praised Neil MacFarlane, former Brentford B head coach now assistant first‑team coach, for encouraging him and helping him grow as a player and a person.
With his place in the senior squad secured, the Nigerian is determined to keep progressing and force his way into Brentford’s matchday plans next season.
“I just want to keep pushing and learning every single day,” Fredrick said. “My aim is to make my debut with the first team, get Premier League minutes and give my best when I have the opportunity.”
