Lady Claims Friend Refused to Help With Transport Fare
A woman expressed her frustration after alleging that a long‑time male acquaintance declined to cover her travel expenses soon after she rejected his romantic advance.
Details of the Incident
She explained that she had just finished her industrial training internship when the gentleman invited her on a date.
She courteously turned him down, saying she wished to stay just friends, as she did not want to embark on a romance that might be short‑lived.
After her shift ended, she realized she lacked sufficient cash to return home.
She then contacted him, asking for ₦1,000, and when he refused, she lowered her request to ₦500.

She narrated the episode, saying, “Guys, I’ve just left my industrial training site, and this friend—whom I’ve known for a while—asked me out. I told him I only wanted to stay friends, believing we could remain amicable. I didn’t want a relationship because it might not endure.”
She went on, “Now I’m trying to get home but I don’t even have five naira, so I pleaded with him for one thousand naira; he refused. I even lowered my request to five hundred naira, still nothing. Meanwhile, he handed another woman five thousand naira just so she could get home. I’m at a loss for words, but it’s fine. I’m left stranded, and I believe the God of Innocence will hold him accountable. Even if he could only spare two hundred naira for a bike ride, he wouldn’t, simply because I declined his romantic overture. I hope the woman he favored ends up breaking his heart, over and over.”
