He noted the pervasive insecurity across the nation. “Why were they not arrested?” he asked. “No exchange of fire took place. Negotiations occurred, as if with business partners. This allows them to kidnap again. I cannot believe what is happening in Nigeria.”

He accused the government of leniency towards criminals. Oseni highlighted a severe lack of accountability. Twenty-four schoolgirls gained freedom. Yet, the kidnappers faced no immediate consequences. He questioned if ransom was paid. He also asked why the government negotiated. Superior firepower should have led to arrests, he argued.

Oseni sharply contrasted this situation with Nnamdi Kanu’s case. Kanu was jailed for life. His offense was inciting violence. Conversely, kidnappers holding victims in captivity were simply released. This happened after negotiations. “Where is the justice?” Oseni demanded. “What about accountability?”
