President Tinubu Wins APC Presidential Primary in Kabo Ward, Kano
President Bola Tinubu emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary held in Kabo Ward, Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State.
The exercise took place on Saturday at the APC secretariat in the ward, which is the political base of Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin.
Statement from Senator Barau Jibrin
In a statement released by his media aide, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau described the turnout of party members as a positive sign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“With the massive turnout of party members, Insha Allah, the coast is clear for the victory of President Tinubu come January 16th, 2027, when the Independent National Electoral Commission will conduct the presidential and National Assembly elections,” he said.
Details of the Primary Election
The returning officer, Umar Mohammadu Rabiu, announced that President Tinubu defeated his sole challenger, Osifo Osayamen Stanley, who received no votes.
Rabiu noted that three of the 1,007 eligible voters in the ward did not participate, and he praised the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
Reactions from Local Leaders
Senator Barau thanked APC members for their massive turnout and orderly behaviour.
The Chairman of Kabo Local Government Area, Lawal Najume, also commended the process and expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects in the 2027 elections.
