A clergy member encouraged believers to show their thankfulness to the Lord not merely through speech but also by giving generously from their finances.
During the sermon, he remarked that it is disrespectful to profess gratitude while contributing minimally or nothing at all in thanksgiving, emphasizing that true thanksgiving must include one’s material resources.
The minister explained that one’s thanksgiving gift ought to mirror their economic standing, noting that those who enjoy financial abundance should not present offerings as if they were scarce.
He further revealed that he personally presents thanksgiving contributions amounting to millions of naira, using his own habit as an example of liberal giving.
He elaborated further, stating:
You cannot approach God with empty hands; you must thank Him with your finances and substance. You shouldn’t give Him only what you prefer or what you wish. If you own two cars, a home, and a substantial income, your gratitude should be demonstrated through significant giving—your offering ought to reach into the millions.
