Popular Nigerian clergyman Pastor Chukwuemeka Odumeje has advised citizens to steer clear of stealing, emphasizing that the current climate is unsuitable for criminal behavior.
During a recent church service, the preacher urged anyone involved in theft to cease immediately, warning that the repercussions of being apprehended could be far harsher than anticipated.
He pleaded, “If you steal, please I beg you in the name of God, this is not the best time to do it. It’s better you stop now because if you’re caught, the kind of punishment you’ll receive these days will be severe.”
Pastor Odumeje further noted that the economic challenges stemming from Tinubu’s administration have left many Nigerians frustrated, increasing the danger for anyone apprehended for theft.
According to the cleric, suspected thieves now face not only legal penalties but also the wrath of members of the public.
He added, “Many Nigerians are channeling their frustration over the hardship under President Tinubu’s government toward anyone caught stealing, because such actions only lead to pointless suffering.”
