Obasanjo Backs Obi-Kwankwaso 2027 Ticket, Former Adviser Claims
A former political adviser to ex‑President Olusegun Obasanjo, Akin Osuntokun, said on Sunday that Obasanjo is fully behind the Peter Obi‑Rabiu Kwankwaso presidential ticket for 2027.
Speaking on Arise News, Osuntokun stated that Obasanjo is the main sponsor of the Obi/Kwankwaso bid and dismissed suggestions that the former president is backing President Bola Tinubu’s re‑election.
“I don’t think it’s correct to say what Obasanjo said in his letter to Osoba is an attempt to give advantage to Tinubu. Obasanjo is critical of Tinubu’s administration. The only ticket Obasanjo is supporting is the Obi‑Kwankwaso ticket, which is conspicuously obvious.”
