Nollywood Star Cynthia Anijekwu Pleads for Financial Help as Cancer Spreads to Bones
Nollywood actress Cynthia Anijekwu has disclosed her ongoing battle with cancer, appealing to Nigerians for financial assistance to cover her medical expenses.
She explained that although doctors initially controlled the disease after surgery and chemotherapy, the cancer later returned and has now metastasized to her bones, necessitating more intensive treatment such as radiation therapy and another surgery.
The actress added that the disease has also affected both breasts, causing swelling in her hands and severe pain.
In her own words, “I was diagnosed with cancer in 2023. I underwent surgery and chemotherapy, but it came back. I’ve been in and out of the hospital. My doctor recently told me the cancer has reached my bones, making treatment far more expensive.”
She continued, “I need to live. I need to survive. I’m asking Nigerians to please help me. Anyone who can assist, please do. Even a one‑naira or two‑naira contribution can make a difference. I’m begging you, please help me.”
Before her health struggle became public, Cynthia Anijekwu built a solid career in Nollywood, appearing in numerous English‑ and Igbo‑language productions.
