Nollywood Mourns Director Dimbo Atiya Following Sudden Death Hours After Actress Temitope Osoba’s Passing
Nigerian movie director Dimbo Atiya has died just over a day after the loss of Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba.
Seun Oloketuyi, founder of the Best of Nollywood Awards, announced the news on Instagram, stating that Dimbo Atiya passed away this morning and promised further details later.
Actor Mofe Duncan also shared a photo of the director on Instagram, expressing his devastation and calling him one of the greatest minds in the entertainment industry.
At the time of this report, the cause of Dimbo Atiya’s death has not been disclosed.
Meanwhile, the family of Temitope Osoba has refuted claims that she died from complications of breast cancer, labeling such reports as false and unauthorized.
Osoba died on Tuesday evening shortly after speaking with colleagues on the phone.
Before her death, she posted the Yoruba phrase “Ogo Tuntun,” meaning “new glory,” on her WhatsApp status at approximately 7:23 p.m.
Following her passing, many social media users linked her death to her prior battle with breast cancer.
In a statement released on Osoba’s official Instagram account on Thursday, her family rejected the speculation surrounding the circumstances of her death.
