Uzor Arukwe Opens Up About Financial Turmoil After Marriage
Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe recently spoke candidly about a challenging financial period that began shortly after his wedding.
In an interview with Tope Olowoniyan, he disclosed that he tied the knot in August and lost his job by November of the same year, leaving him without a steady income.
The sudden unemployment quickly strained his finances, making life unstable.
He added that a car accident that same year compounded his money woes, forcing him to adopt a strict budgeting approach, especially to cover yearly rent and family responsibilities.
“The same year I settled down, I lost my job. I got married in August, and I was unemployed by November. That sent my finances into chaos,” he said.
“During that period I also had a car accident. It was a mess. My rent is due every January, and while others enjoy Detty December, I’m always calculating expenses. I’m not spending or partying; I’m literally crunching numbers. When my first daughter arrived, school fees added another burden. Yes, my finances have been a mess for the longest time, and only my close circle knows.”
Uzor is married to Barbara Arukwe, and they share two daughters.
