Nicki Minaj Explains Why She Stopped Going to Church as Her Career Took Off
American rapper Nicki Minaj recently opened up about her decision to stop attending regular church services, explaining that her booming music career left her with little time for Sunday mornings.
Speaking on The Bryce Crawford podcast, the 43‑year‑old artist said her schedule — often filled with Friday and Saturday night performances — makes it difficult to rise early for worship.
Minaj stressed that her absence from the pews does not reflect a loss of faith. She still believes in God, maintains a personal relationship with Him, and continues to nurture her spirituality in her own way.
“I stopped going to church when my career started taking off because I was always working on Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday mornings became difficult,” she said. “But I still believe in God, I have a relationship with Him, and I’m trying to stay consistent even though it’s not always easy.”
