Mourners Gather in Arochukwu as Late Nollywood Actor Alexx Ekubo’s Body Arrives for Burial
Family members, friends and colleagues gathered in Arochukwu, Abia State, on Thursday to receive the body of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo ahead of his burial.
Ekubo, who died on May 11 at the age of 40, was scheduled for burial on June 18 in Arochukwu, as announced by his family.
Residents of the community joined Nollywood stars and other sympathisers in a procession through the village to honour the late actor.
Many mourners wore T-shirts bearing Ekubo’s portrait, while others held photographs as they paid their last respects.
Among the notable personalities present were his close friend IK Ogbonna, Ini Edo, Omoni Oboli and Yomi Casual.
The actor, who reportedly lost a private battle with kidney cancer, is survived by his wife, parents and siblings.
After the burial service, a reception will follow immediately at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
