A gentleman has revealed that his uncle opted to go back to Nigeria after his marriage in the United States collapsed due to cheating accusations.
He explained that the uncle had spent many years working in Nigeria, amassed substantial wealth, and then brought his spouse to the U.S.
Although the uncle had been unfaithful previously, the narrator said his wife eventually filed for divorce years later, allegedly seeking child support, claiming two properties, and requesting alimony.
In his own words: “He cheated on several occasions, but the most recent incident occurred roughly fifteen years ago. She raised the issue, ended the marriage, collected child support, took his two American homes, and still pursued alimony.”
The narrator added that his uncle decided not to prolong the legal fight and instead chose to return to Nigeria, preferring to stay there rather than continue battling the case in the United States.
He also claimed that the former wife later lost both houses because she could not afford their upkeep.
The uncle reportedly told them to pursue any alimony claims in Nigeria if they wished. Later, when his oldest daughter turned 24, she traveled to Nigeria to find him. He clarified the situation to her, she forgave him, and they rebuilt their relationship,” he said.
The tale has generated varied opinions online, with some defending the man’s choice as justified, while others criticize the fairness of the circumstances and the statements made in the account.

“My Uncle cheated on his wife. She pretended to have forgiven him. He took her to the US. As soon as they arrived and settled, brought up the cheating case, which happened 15 years before. She divorced him, took child support, his two houses in the US, and filed for alimony.”… pic.twitter.com/elH79zdQr0 — Obiasogu David (@afrisagacity) July 16, 2026
