Lamido Calls on Nigerian Youth to Vote for Modern, Energetic Leaders in 2027
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Jigawa State, Mustapha Sule Lamido, has urged young voters to harness their numerical strength and replace the “old generation” of leaders in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Represented by Comrade Aminu Abdullahi Ringim, Lamido stressed that Nigeria and Jigawa State need a fresh breed of leaders who are youthful, energetic and in tune with the aspirations of the youth.
He argued that the leadership style of the older generation has failed to meet the needs and expectations of young Nigerians.
Lamido encouraged young people to take advantage of their demographic weight to shape the country’s leadership direction.
“We are tired of the old generation’s leadership style. We need somebody who is modern, energetic, and understands the yearnings and aspirations of the youth,” he said.
He noted that youths constitute about 80 percent of the electorate, giving them considerable power to influence election outcomes.
Lamido urged them to vote wisely and participate actively in the democratic process, adding, “We have the power to change the old order. How can we continue to allow them to determine our future? We are the majority, and we must use our votes wisely in the 2027 election.”
Comrade Aminu Abdullahi Ringim also spoke, stating that the future of Jigawa State and Nigeria largely depends on the youth.
He urged young people to become more involved in politics and elections, supporting leaders capable of delivering meaningful development.
Aminu emphasized that youths should go beyond merely casting ballots and take an active role in deciding who represents them at various levels of government.
He described the 2027 elections as an opportunity for young voters to make their voices heard and shape the future direction of the state and the nation.
