A Nigerian woman has ignited online discussion after encouraging females to turn in their boyfriends to law enforcement if they uncover any fraudulent behavior.
In a clip shared on X (formerly Twitter), she urged ladies not to stay silent or protect partners involved in scams, but instead to collect solid proof and hand it over to the police.
She stated:
“If you discover that your partner is committing fraud—any form of fraud—take your time to gather compelling evidence. Examine his phone and any other relevant sources.”
She further advised that victims should go to the closest police station, file a statement, and make sure the offender is apprehended rather than aided in concealing his wrongdoing.
The woman added that after facing the legal repercussions, there is no issue with the man launching a legitimate venture to support himself.
“Head to the nearest police station, give a statement, report the incident and ensure his arrest. Once he returns from custody, let him start selling akara or making kuli‑kuli. He is no superior to those engaged in those trades; that line of work is both lucrative and suitable for him.”
Her remarks have sparked a mixed reaction online, with some applauding the call to report criminals irrespective of personal ties, while others believe she should have motivated the men to reform instead.
The footage has revived debates about fidelity in partnerships, responsibility, and the value of pursuing honest livelihoods.
