Kenneth Okonkwo Calls Peter Obi Classless, Accuses Him of Targeting Southeast Rising Stars
African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Kenneth Okonkwo has described the 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, as a classless, non‑charismatic politician with little legal knowledge and zero depth.
Speaking about Obi’s defamation suit against him, Okonkwo said the former Anambra State Governor’s legal team ought to educate him better on what constitutes defamation.
Okonkwo insisted he never defamed Obi, stressing that his comments are already in the public domain and can be verified by anyone.
He went on to label Obi a compulsive liar who is determined to destroy every rising star from the South‑East, echoing the remark made by Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo that Obi “lies like a fish that drinks water.”
Okonkwo elaborated, “Peter Obi is a classless, non‑charismatic politician with little knowledge and zero depth. Look at the lie he just told. A defamation suit is filed against someone for what they have already said, not for what they intend to say. Yet Obi is trying to sue me for what he claims I intend to say. He started the pre‑action notice before I even made the statement, and the court case is merely a tool to obtain what he already demanded.”
He added, “What I said is on my X handle: ‘It’s unwise for you to sue your spokesperson because in defending himself he may divulge confidential information.’ I did not say whether it would destroy him or not. I made the comment only after he began the defamation process. Defamation suits concern statements already made, not future intentions, which is why his claim is false.”
Okonkwo pointed out that other commentators have also criticised Obi without facing legal action: “Sowore called him a packaged fraud; has he sued him? The Minister of Aviation called him a compulsive liar; has he sued him? When Arabambi spoke, Obi said he had no face and was faceless, yet no suit followed.”
Concluding, Okonkwo agreed with the Minister’s assessment, saying, “I agree with him because Obi has lied against me openly and displayed very little legal knowledge. His lawyers should educate him.”
