Kenneth Okonkwo Accuses Peter Obi of Being Classless and Lying
African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Kenneth Okonkwo has denounced Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) 2027 presidential hopeful Peter Obi, describing him as a classless, non‑charismatic politician with little legal knowledge and zero depth.
Speaking about the defamation suit filed by Obi against him, Okonkwo said the former governor’s legal team needs to educate him on what constitutes defamation. He insisted that his remarks about Obi are already in the public domain and can be verified by anyone.
Obi’s Alleged Lies and Motives
Okonkwo went further, claiming that Obi is a compulsive liar determined to destroy every rising star from the South‑East. He backed Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo’s assertion that Obi “lies like a fish that drinks water.”
He argued, “Peter Obi is a classless, non‑charismatic politician with little knowledge and zero depth. Look at the lie he just told. A defamation suit is filed for something already said, not for what someone intends to say. Yet Obi wants to sue me for what I allegedly intend to say, even though he started the legal process before I made those comments.”
Okonkwo pointed out that his statements are available on his X (formerly Twitter) handle and Instagram, emphasizing that a defamation claim must concern already‑published statements, not future intentions.
He added, “If Obi truly wanted to sue me for what I said, he would have gone to court and stated that directly. Instead, he is using the court to obtain pre‑action notices he already requested. This shows a pattern of legal manipulation.”
Okonkwo also referenced activist Omoyele Sowore, who called Obi a “packaged fraud,” and noted that Obi has not pursued legal action against him either. He concluded that the Minister of Aviation’s description of Obi as a compulsive liar is accurate, agreeing that Obi has displayed little knowledge and has openly lied against him.
Okonkwo urged Obi’s lawyers to better educate their client on defamation law, warning that continuing down this path only highlights the candidate’s lack of credibility.
