Jude Bellingham Calls Harry Kane England’s Greatest Ever Player
Jude Bellingham has praised Harry Kane as the finest player in England’s history after the Bayern Munich forward became the nation’s all-time leading scorer at FIFA World Cups.
Kane reached the milestone by heading home England’s second goal in a 2‑0 win over Panama, taking his World Cup tally to 11 goals and moving past Gary Lineker’s previous record of 10. The victory also secured England top spot in their group and a place in the knockout stage.
Bellingham played a key role in the record‑breaking goal, providing the cross for Kane after opening the scoring himself.
Reflecting on their partnership, the midfielder praised the England captain’s influence over the years.
“I think I’ve built a good relationship with Harry over the last four or five years, especially after Qatar, you know, playing so close together,” Bellingham said.
“It’s an honour to play with him. For me, he’s the best England player of all time. He’s the one who has shown up more than anyone, more than any England player.”
“He’s at a level at the minute that’s just incredible. You don’t doubt him at all in terms of whether he’s involved, or not. You know he’s going to make a difference in the game and he did again today.”
England will face DR Congo in the round of 32 after finishing as group winners, a target Bellingham said the squad had set before the tournament.
“We had the goal in mind before the start of the tournament that we wanted to take it in sections,” he said. “And we’ve kind of achieved our first objective, which was to win the group.”
“Obviously today is important to get the win because we want to be in control of our destiny in terms of the route and where we play.”
