INEC Declares Biodun Oyebanji Winner of Ekiti Governorship Election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Governor Biodun Oyebanji the winner of the Ekiti State governorship election held on Saturday.
Returning Officer Professor Adenike Oladiji, Vice‑Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, announced the result in the early hours of Sunday at INEC’s headquarters on Iyin Road, Ado‑Ekiti.
Vote Totals and Voter Turnout
APC polled 319,224 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate received 40,533 votes and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate garnered 12,872 votes.
Out of 988,251 registered voters, 384,940 were accredited and 382,109 votes were cast, of which 375,777 were valid.
