A touching clip shows a Nigerian mother repeatedly praying for her sole son, who is said to be struggling with mental illness, and the footage has spread rapidly across social platforms.
Sharing the story on TikTok, the recorder explained that he had observed the woman praying at that same roadside spot on multiple occasions before approaching her to learn more.
He said he learned that her only child suffers from mental health challenges, and she visits the location repeatedly, clutching her faith and trusting that God will restore her son.
He captioned the video with these words:
“This marks the fourth time I’ve noticed this woman praying at that intersection. Today I finally inquired why. I was informed she has just one son, who is dealing with mental illness, and she returns each day, convinced that God will heal him.”
The footage captures her grasping a Bible while praying near a roadside drainage channel, the place where her son allegedly lay.
The observer remarked that onlookers might have misinterpreted her frequent visits and dismissed her as irrational, unaware of her motivations.
“People label her mad because they lack context, but she is simply a devoted mother unwilling to abandon her sole child,” he continued.
The moving clip has resonated with numerous Nigerians on the internet, prompting sympathy for the mother and prayers for her son’s healing.
