Ewor Alleges Fubara‑Wike Deal Led to Key Sacks
Robinson Ewor, former acting chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, said on Arise Television that Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s decision to dismiss the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and his Chief of Staff was among the terms of an agreement reached with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
According to Ewor, the negotiations followed the lifting of the state of emergency previously imposed on Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu. He claimed that the governor entered into several political pacts with the FCT minister to end the prolonged crisis in the state.
Specific Terms of the Alleged Agreement
Ewor stated that the deal included the removal of both the Chief of Staff and the SSG from office. He further alleged that, during the talks, Fubara agreed not to run for a second term as governor.
The former PDP chairman accused Fubara of keeping the full details of the arrangement hidden from his political supporters, many of whom had backed him throughout his feud with Wike.
