Family Denounces Fake Letter Attributed to Nasir El-Rufai
The family of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has declared a letter circulating on social media as a complete fake. The document, dated 14 July 2026 and supposedly addressed to the National Chairman and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, claims El‑Rufai wrote it from detention, warning that the nomination of Isah Ashiru Kudan could split the party.
In a statement, the family described the letter as poorly written and with dreadful handwriting, insisting it has nothing to do with the former governor, who also served as Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. They urged the public to ignore the message, calling it a desperate ploy by El‑Rufai’s opponents to sow confusion and division.
