Former Minister Pauline Tallen Reconciles with Ex-Plateau Governor Jonah Jang
Former Minister of Women Affairs Pauline Tallen publicly set aside her differences with former Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang during the celebration of his 80th birthday and the launch of his autobiography, From Airman to Politics, in Jos.
The event attracted high‑profile attendees including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former President Goodluck Jonathan, governors, lawmakers, traditional rulers and political leaders from across Nigeria, creating a solemn yet celebratory atmosphere for her remarks.
Speaking to applause, Tallen declared that she had chosen forgiveness over resentment, insisting that the political disagreements that once strained their relationship are now history and that she holds deep respect for Jang.
She recounted how their political partnership began, noting that she first served as commissioner before Jang approached her to become his running mate after consulting her husband and parents.
Tallen explained that she accepted the offer because she believed in his leadership and trusted his vision for Plateau State, adding that she stood by him even when they belonged to different parties.
Describing Jang as “a man of destiny,” she highlighted how their collaboration produced electoral victory and years of dedicated service to the state.
She congratulated the former governor on reaching the age of 80 and prayed that God would grant him many more years of good health, peace and strength.
