A Nigerian farmer has taken to social media to express her distress after a man who claimed he needed work to support his family allegedly blocked her once she sent him five thousand naira for transportation.
She explained that the individual had repeatedly reached out, pleading for employment and insisting he needed the income to care for his wife and children.
Farmer Extends Job Offer
The man told her he lacked driving skills for both cars and motorcycles, yet stressed his urgent need for work.
Sympathetic to his situation, the farmer proposed a position paying seventy thousand naira per month, complete with free meals and lodging.
She also requested that he forward his National Identification Number and a résumé before starting.
She recounted his message:
“One man messaged me last week begging for a job to look after his wife and kids. He admitted he cannot drive a car or ride a bike, but said he desperately needed the work.”
Alleged Blocking After Receiving N5k
According to her, the individual was set to begin work on Saturday but later claimed he lacked fare for transport.
Feeling compassionate, she transferred five thousand naira and asked him to buy a few items on his route to the farm.
She claims he blocked her immediately after the money arrived.
She added:
“He said he needed transport money. I pitied him and sent him five thousand naira so he could purchase items for me on his way to my place. The individual blocked me right after receiving the cash and erased his NIN, unaware I had already stored it.”
