Ex-PDP Chairman Says Rivers State’s Problem Lies with Governor Fubara, Not Wike
Former Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman Robinson Ewor has stated that Governor Siminalayi Fubara, not former minister Nyesom Wike, is the source of the state’s difficulties.
Speaking on Arise Television, Ewor explained that early public perception blamed Wike for preventing the governor from functioning, but later analysis revealed a different reality.
He said, “Perception is different from reality. What I knew then and what I know now are two different things. Initially, the perception was that Wike didn’t allow the governor, Fubara, to function.”
Ewor added, “Today we have realized that the problem of the state wasn’t Wike; it was the inability of Sim, the governor himself, to be open to the people of Rivers.”
When the conflict began, the narrative presented to Rivers residents was that Wike blocked the governor’s work. Ewor noted that this story has since changed, even among Fubara’s supporters, who now see that Wike did not stop the governor from discharging his duties.
He concluded, “The facts before Rivers people then and the facts before we, the supporters of Fubara today, are not the same.”
