A man sparked widespread emotion online after describing how a sudden meeting with his ex‑secondary school teacher moved him to tears while he was earning a living as a bike‑taxi rider in Ibadan.
He explained that his former class and English instructor, Mrs. Togbe, was renowned for her disciplined teaching style and her relentless push for each pupil to achieve success, frequently urging them to continue their studies and stay in school.
Recalling a discussion held during a school break, he said the teacher assembled a small group of pupils after they had completed marking exam papers and shared her thoughts on their prospective paths.
The Teacher’s Warning Stayed With Him
He quoted her saying, “Should any of you quit school and end up as a motorcycle taxi driver or a bus conductor, do not acknowledge me if we cross paths.”
