Doris Ogala Declares Herself Future Governor of Abia State
Nollywood actress and African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate Doris Ogala has declared that residents of Abia State have “no choice” but to accept her as their next governor.
Speaking to viewers, she expressed confidence in her victory ahead of the 2027 governorship election, stating, “I, Doris Ogala, as your governor, you don’t have a choice. Doris will be your governor, you don’t have a choice.”
She added that God has declared it so, questioning why residents fail to understand the simplicity of her claim.
Ogala said her emergence as the AAC candidate signals her intention to unseat incumbent Governor Alex Otti, promising to prioritize the welfare of Abia residents, create jobs, and drive economic growth if elected.
Before entering partisan politics, Ogala built a career in Nollywood and later became active in political advocacy under the AAC, taking part in protests and campaigns addressing issues affecting Abia State.
In June 2026, she collapsed during a political consultation in Umuahia and was admitted to the Federal Medical Centre.
While hospitalized, she interacted with patients from a wheelchair and prayed with them, an act that drew mixed reactions on social media.
