Dollar to Naira Exchange Rate on August 6, 2026 – Black Market Update
The parallel market, often referred to as the black market or Aboki fx, continues to show distinct rates for the US dollar against the Nigerian naira.
According to reports from Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in Lagos, on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, traders were selling one US dollar for ₦1,425 and buying it at ₦1,410.
These figures reflect the prevailing supply and demand dynamics in the informal foreign‑exchange segment.
Official Stance on the Parallel Market
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not sanction the black market. It advises individuals and businesses seeking foreign currency to conduct transactions through authorized banks.
Engaging with the parallel market carries risks, including potential legal complications and unfavorable rates compared to official channels.
