Destiny Boy’s Family Struggles to Access His Phone and Bank Account
The family of late Afrofuji singer Destiny Boy has revealed that they remain unable to unlock his mobile phone, which blocks access to his bank account.
Despite multiple attempts, including consulting phone experts in Lagos, the device remains locked.
They took the handset to Computer Village, the well‑known technology market in Lagos, hoping technicians could bypass the security lock, but the effort was unsuccessful.
The family says gaining access to the phone would allow them to retrieve information linked to the singer’s bank account and ease the financial challenges they have faced since his death.
Destiny Boy’s wife previously knew the password, but she could not provide it after the singer changed it following her withdrawals from his account.
“If we were able to unlock Destiny’s phone, our lives would have been better by now. We took the phone to Computer Village, but they couldn’t unlock it. Even Destiny’s wife doesn’t know the password,” the singer’s father said.
“She used to know it, but when she started making withdrawals from his bank account, he changed it. As a result, we have also been unable to access the money in his account,” he added.
Destiny Boy, whose real name was Afeez Adesina, died on 17 January 2026 at the age of 22. He was buried the following day in Ayetoro, Ogun State, in accordance with Islamic burial rites.
