Davido Explains Why He Chooses a Simple Life Over Luxury
Nigerian afrobeats superstar Davido has said he often prefers to dress casually and live like an ordinary person, even though he grew up with wealth and privilege.
He recalled traveling on private jets and seeing money from a very young age, noting that those experiences no longer excite him. Instead, he feels comfortable in slippers, shorts, and sometimes even without a watch.
Although his managers advise him to adopt a more polished “celebrity personality” for special events, Davido insists he would rather satisfy simple needs like hunger, sometimes choosing a modest Toyota over his fleet of luxury cars.
He added that living simply does not diminish his style or appeal; it merely reflects his personal preference for a low‑key lifestyle.
