He explained that his privileged upbringing initially worked against him in the music industry because African audiences tend to favor “grass‑to‑grace” stories.
Despite those early hurdles, Davido persevered, building a legacy that distinguishes him not only across Africa but on the global stage. He challenged listeners to name another billionaire’s offspring who has achieved similar success, stating:
“Not to brag, but which other billionaire’s child, in Africa or the world, has made a name for himself and earned substantial money? You can’t name one apart from me.”
