Davido Credits Family for Supporting Him Through His Darkest Days
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has spoken candidly about the vital role his family played in helping him navigate some of the most challenging moments of his life.
During an interview with Vibe Q, the singer explained that his relatives are usually the first to reach out whenever he faces difficulties, and they have remained a constant source of strength throughout his career.
He recalled the painful period after the loss of his child, noting that his family stayed by his side until he regained his emotional footing.
Davido said his loved ones understand the depth of his sorrow and feel joy whenever they see him perform, because they know how broken he felt during that time.
Even when he does not initiate contact, his family members regularly check in on him to ensure he is doing well.
He summed it up saying, “My family has been the only one helping me through scandals & problems; my brothers, sisters and my father are always the first to call when something bad happens. When I lost my child, they stayed with me until I was fine. They’re always happy seeing me perform because they know how broken I was when I lost my child. Even on the days I don’t call them, they always call to check up on me.”
