Daddy Showkey Reveals He Considered Joining the Nigerian Army Before Music Success
Veteran Nigerian musician Daddy Showkey explained that the breakup of the music group Pretty Busy Boys left him uncertain about his future, prompting him to think about enlisting in the Nigerian Army.
He said he returned to the garage after the split and struggled to decide on a career path, initially planning to join the army but finding the training too demanding.
Showkey recalled telling Channels Television that after the group disbanded, he went back to the garage and first considered a military career, but the rigorous training discouraged him.
He later returned to Lagos, resumed work in the garage, and there discovered his singing ability, which set him on the path to a solo career and made him a pioneer of the galala music movement.
Reflecting on his journey, the veteran artiste emphasized that success is not reserved for a select few, urging everyone to stay hopeful and work hard because God intends to bless all people.
