Bob Manuel Udokwu Explains His Social Media Silence
Nollywood veteran Bob Manuel Udokwu has opened up about his decision to keep a low profile on social media platforms. He says he prefers to observe conversations from the sidelines rather than jump into the constant online chatter.
The actor pointed out that many topics that trend online bear little relevance to the everyday challenges Nigerians face, yet they still consume valuable time and data.
He also highlighted the prevalence of trolling and insults across digital spaces, which he described as exhausting and detrimental to meaningful dialogue.
“Social media has become something else in Nigeria. Most times, things that have little or no relevance to the day-to-day struggles of the people go viral and consume valuable time and data from the same traumatised people! It baffles me! Too much dragging and trolling everywhere! I really don’t regret my choice to stay quiet and read from the sidelines while the job is done…… I am sure you would agree with me on this? However due to popular demand I will be more active in posting and engaging my fans from now on….. How una see am?”

Udokwu concluded that, for now, he will remain mostly silent online but intends to increase his interaction with followers following the strong response from his audience.
