Babachir Lawal Says No Nigerian Party Can Claim Free and Fair Primaries
Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal has accused all Nigerian political parties of manipulating their primary elections.
He warned citizens to stay away from polling stations, saying that the process is merely a pretence where results are already decided before voting begins.
Lawal added that, like a single bullet in a rifle can make a thousand soldiers surrender, Nigerians would simply go home and avoid confrontation, only to protest later after the outcome is announced.
The former SGF also suggested that President Bola Tinubu could pursue a third term if God grants him sufficient lifespan, noting that parties continue to fight over the legitimacy of their primaries.
