Baba Fryo on Musicians and Relationships
Veteran Nigerian singer Baba Fryo confirmed that he is currently married and reflected on a comment he made years ago about wishing he had married someone from the showbiz world.
He explained that while having a partner who understands the entertainment industry can be helpful, what truly matters is mutual understanding and support, not simply sharing the same profession.
The artist noted that marrying a fellow entertainer does not automatically guarantee a peaceful relationship, as outside influences — such as fans or industry pressures — can still create problems between couples.
Baba Fryo described respect as “the ultimate in marriage,” insisting that relationships often falter when partners fail to understand each other. He warned that musicians who constantly adjust themselves to keep their partners happy risk jeopardizing their careers.
He concluded that when a woman understands an artiste’s business, is loyal, and offers genuine support, that is when the musician can truly grow and succeed.
