Adelabu Describes Late Ajimobi as a Father Figure

Former Minister of Power and 2027 Oyo State governorship aspirant, Bayo Adelabu, has spoken highly of the late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi. He characterised Ajimobi as a “magnetized leader” who gave clear direction and mentorship to many politicians, including himself.

Adelabu recalled his personal bond with Ajimobi, saying, “My personal relationship with the late former governor was that of a son to a father.” He added that it was Ajimobi’s style of governance and politics that inspired him to enter public service.

Ajimobi’s Impact on Security, Infrastructure and Education

The former minister highlighted Ajimobi’s decisive approach to challenges. He noted that the late governor’s body language signaled a commitment to a crime‑free Oyo State, a goal he achieved by confronting insecurity head‑on.

Adelabu also praised Ajimobi’s achievements in infrastructure development and education reform, stating that the former governor tackled these sectors with the same determination he applied to security.

Call for APC Unity Ahead of the 2027 Election

Looking forward, Adelabu urged members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to set aside individual ambitions and pursue reconciliation. He stressed that a united APC is essential to unseat the current Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration in Oyo State during the 2027 governorship election.
