Jimmy Rolland Opens Up About His Failed Marriage
Nollywood actor Jimmy Rolland has spoken candidly about the breakdown of his marriage, revealing that his former wife misled him about her past before they tied the knot.
Despite warnings from his mother, close friends and even spiritual advisers, Rolland proceeded with the wedding because he trusted his partner’s honesty.
The couple had dated for four years, during which she insisted she was a virgin and urged them to wait until their wedding night for intimacy.
On their wedding night, Rolland discovered that her claim was false, leaving him feeling deeply hurt and betrayed.
He admitted that, although he sensed something was off, he chose to stay in the marriage at the time.
The most painful consequence of the separation, he said, has been losing regular access to his two children.
“I am not a fool. I saw the signs, but I was hypnotised by my mother-in-law. My mother and friends had consulted spiritual leaders and warned me not to marry her, yet I ignored them. She told me she was a virgin, so I did not push for intimacy. We dated for four good years. After our introduction she said, ‘Till the wedding night.’ I waited months, and on the wedding night it turned out to be a lie,” he recalled.
Rolland added that the emotional strain of being kept away from his children contributed to a stroke he suffered, and his mother still grieves over not being able to see her grandchildren.
