Former NNPP Osun Chairman Odeyemi Tosin Appointed Acting Chairman of DLA in Osun State
The Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has named Odeyemi Tosin, the former Osun State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), as its Acting Chairman in Osun State, effective immediately.
The appointment follows approval from the party’s National Executive Committee and is made under the authority granted to the National Chairman and National Working Committee by the DLA Constitution.
Tosin will oversee the party’s affairs in Osun until substantive state executives are elected. A copy of the appointment letter has also been forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
According to the party, the acting chairman is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective party structures across the state, upholding the DLA’s constitution and ideology, and reporting regularly to the National Working Committee on the Osun chapter’s activities and progress.
The letter states that the appointment will remain “at the pleasure of the National Working Committee” and may be reviewed after the party holds congresses to elect substantive executives or if the party’s rules and directives are violated.
The DLA said the move is part of its broader strategy to reposition the party and strengthen its grassroots networks in Osun ahead of future political activities and elections.
Reacting to his appointment, Tosin thanked the National Chairman, the National Executive Committee, and the National Working Committee for the confidence placed in him. He described the role as “a call to service” and pledged to rebuild, unite, and expand the party’s presence across Osun’s 30 local government areas.
He assured members that the Osun chapter would operate with transparency, discipline, and integrity, and appealed to fellow party members and stakeholders to support the new leadership in its efforts to revitalize the DLA in the state.
