WAFCON 2026 Quarter-Final Fixtures Confirmed
Three quarter‑final match‑ups for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations have been locked in following the conclusion of Group C. Nigeria’s Super Falcons, the defending champions, will meet Cameroon in the last eight.
Hosts Morocco are scheduled to play South Africa on Saturday, 8 August at 9 p.m. WAT, while Ivory Coast will face Algeria earlier that day at 6 p.m. WAT.
The Super Falcons secured their place with a commanding 6‑2 victory over Egypt. Asisat Oshoala opened the scoring from the penalty spot, and goals from Gift Monday, Uchenna Kanu, Christy Ucheibe, Rasheedat Ajibade and substitute Joy Omewa sealed the win. Despite a late consolation from Nadin Yasser Ezzat Ghazy, Egypt could not overturn the deficit.
Malawi made history by reaching the knockout stage on their tournament debut. They will now await the outcome of the Mali vs Ghana clash to determine their quarter‑final opponent.
The final quarter‑final fixture will be decided after Thursday’s Group D games, where Cameroon plays Cape Verde and Mali takes on Ghana, both kicking off at 9 p.m. simultaneously on 6 August.
